The artist creates colored visions of animals that are made of materials, as if woven out of thread and decorative fabrics. Building on contrast, they are full of life, energy, and fantasy, always idealized in their complicated nature and continuous transformation. In her art, the artist uses intensely saturated colors, which illustrate the vibrancy of the world her characters inhabit.</p> <p> </p> <p><em>Happiness is Easy</em> is a continuation of Prończuk-Kuziak’s <em>True Colors</em> show and is composed of 17 new oil paintings depicting short stories and reality snapshots which all have one thing in common:  happiness.</p> <p> </p> <p>According to Prończuk-Kuziak, “With time, I saw that <em>True Colors</em> was all about hope: hope for luck and inner peace …. The newest series of my works describe happiness and finding it in perverse ways. Happiness is a very subjective concept and on the individual level, is often extremely difficult to reach despite being the most important and crucial need for all mankind. People can try to reach it for all their lives and find it in the most unexpected or strange places, situations, people, or moments.</p> <p> </p> <p>Ewa Prończuk-Kuziak is a Polish contemporary artist who lives and works in Warsaw. She studied Polish Philology at the Warsaw University, Fine Arts at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Antwerp, Belgium) and Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts (Warsaw, Poland) where she obtained an MFA in Painting. Ewa’s oil paintings are a combination of still life, nature and fantasy. Building on contrast, her artworks are full of life, energy, and fantasy, always idealized in their complicated nature and continuous transformation. In her works, Ewa uses intensely saturated colors, which illustrate the vibrancy of the world her characters inhabit.</p> <p> </p> <p><em>Happiness is Easy</em> premiered on April 18th, alongside a group show, entitled <em>Fantastical Beasts</em>, and a solo show from Yoko d'Holbachie, entitled <em>Flowers</em>.</p> <p> </p> <p><a href="https://www.coreyhelfordgallery.com/" style="color:#0563c1; text-decoration:underline"><strong>Corey Helford Gallery</strong></a><strong> is located at 571 S. His influences come from street art, underground and pop culture mixed with scientific interests. The focus of his artworks are built around prophets, visions with dates, real places and existing people. With direct brushwork, he mostly uses unmixed colors structurally, like an abstractionist, but in the service of a narrative agenda. Color holds his pictures together, and through it they command a space. Images can read without effort – the words, the colors and the construction - but cannot be decoded accurately.</p> <p>  </p> <p> “The very first moment when I realized what abstract art is was the moment when my father came to my exhibition and said:  ‘Okay, but where are the pictures?’</p> <p>  </p> <p> I like to make my pictures about the future and science. Painting is the last thing I like to think about when I create pictures. I just let the artwork be born by itself because that’s the way things work for me. I don’t need inspiration to start painting; my only need is material to work with.  I don’t try to make masterpieces; I give them a chance to create themselves. I just let art work.”</p> <p>  </p> <p> <em>For more information about the artist, visit <a href="http://oliversin.eu/" target="_blank">http://oliversin.eu</a></em></p> <p>  </p> <p> <em><img alt="" src="/sites/default/files/2sin.jpg" style="width: 650px; height: 460px;" /></em></p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="" src="/sites/default/files/3sin.jpg" style="width: 650px; height: 466px;" /></p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="" src="/sites/default/files/4sin.jpg" style="width: 650px; height: 456px;" /></p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="" src="/sites/default/files/5sin.jpg" style="width: 504px; height: 650px;" /></p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="" src="/sites/default/files/6sin.jpg" style="width: 650px; height: 463px;" /></p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="" src="/sites/default/files/7sin.jpg" style="width: 465px; height: 650px;" /></p> </div></div></div><div class="field field-name-field-tags field-type-taxonomy-term-reference field-label-above"><div class="field-label">Tags:&nbsp;</div><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even" rel="dc:subject"><a href="/olilver-sin" typeof="skos:Concept" property="rdfs:label skos:prefLabel" datatype="">olilver sin</a></div><div class="field-item odd" rel="dc:subject"><a href="/artists" typeof="skos:Concept" property="rdfs:label skos:prefLabel" datatype="">artists</a></div><div class="field-item even" rel="dc:subject"><a href="/hungary" typeof="skos:Concept" property="rdfs:label skos:prefLabel" datatype="">hungary</a></div><div class="field-item odd" rel="dc:subject"><a href="/european-artists" typeof="skos:Concept" property="rdfs:label skos:prefLabel" datatype="">european artists</a></div><div class="field-item even" rel="dc:subject"><a href="/art" typeof="skos:Concept" property="rdfs:label skos:prefLabel" datatype="">art</a></div></div></div><div class="field field-name-field-author field-type-text field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even">Oliver Sin</div></div></div><div class="field field-name-field-pop field-type-list-boolean field-label-above"><div class="field-label">Popular:&nbsp;</div><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even">not popular</div></div></div><div class="field field-name-field-bot field-type-list-boolean field-label-above"><div class="field-label">Bottom Slider:&nbsp;</div><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even">Out Slider</div></div></div> Wed, 28 Aug 2013 14:26:00 +0000 tara 3425 at https://www.highbrowmagazine.com https://www.highbrowmagazine.com/2748-art-oliver-sin#comments
